The Lighthouse Snowglobe Prop

The "Challenge/Suggestion" Piece for my Portfolio Project at SWC. A classmate told me I should make a Snowglobe and I loved the Idea. I went looking for the only one in my house for inspiration and it was a Lighthouse and so I decided to make a sculpt based off of my favourite movie to come out recently; The Lighthouse. Go watch it.

The focus of this piece was primarily the digital sculpting of the island and the water. Luckily I've been growing more comfortable with Zbrush as we have been working on character stuff. I wanted to have each piece fit with an appropriate scale for the snowglobe itself whilst also including as many references to the Movie itself. I also messed around with curve tools for the first time to create the Mermaid.

Another challenge to the piece was to make it look like a Snowglobe Sculpt through texturing and so I used simpler materials, did a bit of manual painting and made sure to leave some empty or eroded paint lines.
